JSW Steel has always maintained its philosophy of building sustainable business which is rooted in the community, and demonstrated care for the environment. The company’s thrust is on reducing carbon footprint, using renewable energies, and focusing on a regenerative approach to business.
JSW Steel has also taken initiatives to support Mission LiFE drive, initiated by the Government of India. In this connection, JSW Steel and the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change of India organized a meet here on Wednesday to promote the drive.
Addressing the employees, AT Mishra, Deputy Director General of Forest, MoEF&CC, IRO, Bhubaneswar said, “A small change in environmental conscious lifestyle can minimize global warming. Under Mission Life, we need to follow seven steps — save energy, save water, say no to single use plastic, adopt a sustainable food system, reduce waste, adopt a healthy lifestyle and reduce e-waste to minimize global warming for a better future.”
Mishra urged all employees to practice sustainable lifestyles and contribute in healing the earth.
The CSR team of JSW Foundation elaborated the initiatives that have been taken for the conservation of energy. The company promised to practice sustainable activities for the environment.
Mission LiFE is an India-led global mass movement to nudge individual and community action to protect and preserve the environment. It follows the P3 model, which stands for Pro Planet People, focusing on a lifestyle of the planet, for the planet, and by the planet. It advocates for a circular economy, where the concept of reduce, reuse and recycle is crucial to balance development, economic growth and sustainability.
