Moved by the tragic death of nearly 300 people in the Bahanaga triple-train accident, NIST Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) has taken a compassionate step to assist the children of the accident victims by providing them with free education. This was announced by NIST Founder Chairman Dr. Sukant Mohapatra at a press conference, here on Tuesday.
Expressing his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, Dr. Mohapatra announced a 100 per cent academic fee waiver for the children who wish to pursue career in Engineering, Management or Science disciplines offered at the institution.
Sympathising with affected families, Dr. Mohapatra expressed his earnest desire to support the affected children for a bright future. His aim is to provide them with an opportunity to study in any discipline at NIST, enabling them to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
To avail this opportunity, the members of the affected families may contact the dedicated Help Desk at +91 9777146478. The institute will provide details on the admission process and assist with any queries related to it, said Dr. Mohapatra.

On this occasion Prof. Sabyasachi Rath, Dean, School of Management, NIST Institute of Science & Technology (NIST) and Dr. Priyadarshi Tripathy, Principal, NIST Institute of Science & Technology (NIST) were also present.
