The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) conducted its second bi-annual convocation for the fiscal year 2023-24 in the Eastern Region on Sunday. The event, held at the Centre for Corporate Governance Research and Training (CCGRT) in Kolkata, aimed to confer certificates of membership upon Associate and Fellow members admitted between April 1, 2023, and September 30, 2023. Additionally, the convocation recognized and awarded prizes and medals to outstanding students at the national level and winners of national-level competitions.
Manish Gupta, the President of ICSI, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Notable attendees included Council Member Sandip Kumar Kejriwal, ICSI EIRC Chairman Soumya Sujit Mishra, and ICSI Joint Secretary (SG) Ankur Yadav.
The ceremony saw the presentation of certificates to nearly 150 Associate (ACS)/Fellow Members (FCS) and members who successfully completed the PMQ courses in the Eastern Region.
A noteworthy announcement was made during the event, stating that the new office of ICSI EIRC would operate from CCGRT, Kolkata. CCGRT Kolkata, located in New Town Kolkata, boasts a well-equipped research center affiliated with ICSI. The EIRC of ICSI will utilize this new facility to offer various training programs and classroom teachings for students, along with professional development programs catering to its members in the region.
