Highlighting the growing significance of the Ayush movement, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday said that the strategic collaboration between an empowered Ayush system and modern medicine aims to fortify the country’s patient care delivery system.
Laying the foundation for ‘Ayush Diksha’, a first of its kind centre for development of human resources for Ayush professionals of future, here today, the Minister said that this pioneering center is poised to play a pivotal role in honing the skills of Ayush professionals, enabling them to provide world-class patient care services.
“Ayush movement has gained a lot of prominence under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. Thanks to Modiji’s untiring effort to leverage our ancient and rich heritage of traditional medicine, we are moving towards an integrated medicine approach where an empowered Ayush system of medicine will be used along with the modern medicine in building a robust patient care delivery system in the country. As we begin the journey of Ayush Diksha centre here today, this centre will enable the Ayush professionals to hone up their skills and upscale their dexterity in providing world class patient care services to the people of the country. It will prove as a catalyst to the powerful Ayush movement and its attempt at global movement towards a healthy and happy life experience,” Sonowal said.
The institution will offer comprehensive training programs for Ayush professionals, particularly those specializing in Ayurveda. With a focus on collaboration with nationally renowned institutes, the center aims to enhance capacity, facilitate research and development, and achieve self-sustainability. The Ayush Diksha center, with a budget of Rs 30 crore, will boast cutting-edge facilities, including auditoriums, modern rooms, VIP suites, a natural library, discussion rooms, a modular kitchen, and a dining lounge.
Minister Sonowal further expressed, “Under the inspiring leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, our rich heritage of Ayurveda has received due attention. The resurgent Ayush movement has become a pioneer in rejuvenating traditional medicine globally. By empowering various traditional medicines of India, we are confident that Modi ji’s vision of a Swastha Bharat will be realized. The integrated medicinal approach will prove to be a boon for the people, enhancing their quality of life by addressing both physical and mental well-being.”
The event, attended by MP (Lok Sabha) for Bhubaneswar, Aparajita Sarangi, Director General of CCRAS, Prof Vaidya Rabinarayan Acharya, along with other ministry officials, students, and Ayush professionals, marks a significant step towards promoting and advancing research in Ayurveda on scientific lines. CARI, Bhubaneswar, as a unit under CCRAS, stands as a testament to this groundbreaking initiative.
