Paradip Port Authority hosts 38th Annual Flower Show

The township of Paradip Port came alive with vibrant hues and fragrant blooms as it celebrated its annual floral extravaganza at the 38th Annual Flower Show, organized by the R&B Division of the Paradip Port Authority (PPA).

The event, held at the Officers’ Club, witnessed a large turnout of residents and enthusiasts eager to admire the beautiful displays of flowers in various colours and arrangements.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by PPA Chairman PL Haranadh, who highlighted the importance of the flower show in enhancing the greenery and aesthetic appeal of Paradip Port. He emphasized the ongoing beautification efforts from Atharabanki to Gate No.4 and the continuous planting of one lakh saplings annually for the past three years through the Odisha Forest Development Corporation (OFDC).

He expressed optimism about the significant transformation expected in the Port landscape within the next two years. PPA Deputy Chairman Nilabhra Dasgupta, along with other Heads of Departments, also attended the inauguration ceremony.

The exhibition featured a diverse array of floral and botanical specimens, with approximately 135 participants showcasing their collections in 48 different categories. These categories included flowers, ornamental plants in cut and pot arrangements, bonsai, vegetables, and foliage, captivating the attention of visitors with their beauty and creativity.

Throughout the day, visitors explored the various exhibition stalls, marvelling at the myriad colours and fragrances of the flowers on display. The flower show served as a delightful sensory experience, enchanting all who attended.

The event culminated in a grand ceremony held in the evening at the Officers’ Club, where PPA Chairman, Deputy Chairman, and other Heads of Departments felicitated the winners across different categories with awards.

The 38th Annual Flower Show hosted by the Paradip Port Authority not only showcased the natural beauty of floral creations but also underscored the commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.
