India’s largest producer of aluminium and value-added products, Vedanta Ltd, supports four schools of the Jharsuguda district through the Odisha Government’s “Mo School Abhiyaan”.
The company has contributed Rs. 80 lakh to the revamping of government high schools including PS High School, Kolabira; CDB Nodal High School, Parmanpur; BD High School, Baghmara; and GP Nodal High School, Samasingha located in the Kolabira Block.
These high schools will be proffered with Rs. 20 lakh each to build infrastructure to the level of having features like a smart classroom, e-library, ICT Lab, playground and garden etc. Additionally, as per the “Mo School Abhiyaan” framework, the contribution made by Vedanta will be matched, twice over, by the CSR Pool of the State Mo School Abhiyan Parichalana Sangathan that will speed up the development of infrastructure at the schools.
Speaking about the company’s contribution, CN Singh, CEO – Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, said, “Vedanta is committed to the development of children in India. Vedanta’s educational interventions have nurtured and supported 5000 children in the region.
