Keeping in view the sharp rise in Covid-19 cases, the Odisha Government on Sunday announced to impose 14-day statewide lockdown starting from May 5, 2021.
During this period, healthcare and other services will continue as usual.
People will be allowed to purchase essential commodities within 500-metre radius of their residences between 6 am and 12 noon, a government notification stated.
The lockdown is primarily aimed at regulating the movement of common man. There will be no restriction on the movement of goods carriers, the official order said.
However, political, social or business meetings will not be allowed during this lockdown down period, which will remain in force till 5 am of May 19.
