The Talcher Kaniha unit of NTPC Ltd. observed World AIDS Day in its Hospital premises on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Chief Medical Officer Dr. RK Mishra delivered a talk to create awareness regarding the myths associated with AIDS and ways to combat them.
In his address, Dr. Mishra emphasized the theme — “Global solidarity and shared responsibility” — for this year’s World AIDS Day. He highlighted the importance of strengthening communities to fight against HIV and eradicate HIV infections by 2030.
Officials from the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Angul also joined the program and distributed ribbons and leaflets for creating awareness.
A presentation on COVID Care and infection control was also given by the nursing staff and Apollo staff.
NTPC Kaniha Hospital also celebrated Pharmacy Week earlier from November 16-22, 2020. Pharmacists were felicitated with a token of appreciation by CMO Dr. Mishra in presence of senior doctors of the Hospital, Dr. Aparajita Mishra, Dr. Madhulika Banerjee and other hospital staff for their services during the ongoing pandemic.
