Jindal Steel & Power Chairman Naveen Jindal has been unanimously elected as the President of the Indian Steel Association (ISA), the apex body for steel producers.
This unanimous election by the apex committee underscores his leadership and deep-rooted expertise in the sector. Naveen Jindal assumes this esteemed position following the tenure of Dilip Oommen, CEO of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, whose stewardship of the ISA during challenging times has been commended by the association.
In the lineage of esteemed predecessors such as JSW Steel CMD Sajjan Jindal and Tata Steel MD & CEO TV Narendran, Naveen Jindal steps into the role with a wealth of experience and a clear vision for the industry’s future. His tenure at Jindal Steel & Power, a stalwart in India’s industrial landscape with diversified interests spanning steel, mining, and infrastructure, speaks volumes about his acumen and commitment to excellence.
Beyond his corporate endeavours, Naveen Jindal is renowned as an Indian industrialist and philanthropist of great repute. His tenacious advocacy for the “Right to display the national flag on all days” as a Fundamental Right, following a protracted legal battle, underscores his dedication to societal causes. Moreover, his tenure as a two-time elected Member of Parliament, serving the nation for a decade, further reflects his deep engagement with India’s socio-political fabric.
