Bongaigaon, May 21, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a remarkable display of community engagement and environmental stewardship, NTPC Bongaigaon organized a massive plogging event as part of the ongoing Swachh Pakhwada, held from May 16th to 31st, 2024. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 100 employees and associates, marking a significant step towards a cleaner and greener environment.
Led by KC Muraleedharan, Business Unit Head of NTPC Bongaigaon, the event began with participants taking the Swachhata Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to cleanliness and sustainable living. The group then embarked on a 2-kilometer plogging route from the NTPC Bongaigaon Township premises to Salakati Market, collecting litter and waste along the way.
Senior officials, including Induri S Reddy, GM (O&M), Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operation), AK Singh, AGM (FM), Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), and Heads of Departments, joined employees from various departments in the cleanup effort. Their active involvement highlighted the collective commitment to fostering a culture of cleanliness and sustainability within the community.
Upon reaching Salakati Market, NTPC Bongaigaon donated six dustbins to the market committee, symbolizing a lasting commitment to the area’s daily cleanliness and upkeep. This gesture reflects NTPC Bongaigaon’s dedication to environmental conservation and the well-being of the communities it serves.
