Paradip, June 11, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on Tuesday marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of the last leg of the four-lane road connectivity from the National Highway and State Highway to the port township. The new road, inaugurated by PPA Chairman PL Haranadh, promises to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance emergency evacuation capabilities in the area.
The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of Heads of Departments (HoDs) and other senior officials, underscoring the importance of this development. The newly developed road aims to streamline traffic flow, particularly easing congestion around the PPA Administrative Building.
Chairman PL Haranadh highlighted the benefits of this alternative road connectivity. “This new road will significantly reduce traffic congestion in the port township, improving daily commutes and ensuring smoother operations,” he said. He also emphasized its critical role in emergency situations, providing a more efficient evacuation route.
One of the notable advantages of the new road is its impact on the area surrounding Kendriya Vidyalaya. By offering an alternative route, the road is expected to minimize traffic congestion during school hours, ensuring safer and more convenient travel for students and parents.
The development of this alternative road connectivity is part of PPA’s broader strategy to enhance infrastructure and operational efficiency. By linking the port township more effectively with major highways, PPA aims to support its growth and improve the overall quality of life for residents and workers in the area.
This initiative reflects PPA’s commitment to sustainable and forward-thinking infrastructure development, ensuring that the port can meet future demands while maintaining a high standard of service and safety for all stakeholders.
