SAMBALPUR, JUNE 16, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan announced on Sunday an ambitious initiative to transform Sambalpur into a dynamic hub of development, promising significant advancements in infrastructure and essential services.
Following a meeting with district administrative officials, Minister Pradhan highlighted the BJP government’s dedication to enhancing Sambalpur’s status through a detailed long-term master plan. This plan targets critical areas such as roads, drinking water supply, healthcare facilities, and sanitation systems, all essential for the region’s growth.
“With the public’s support, the BJP government in Odisha, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to fulfilling its promises,” said Minister Pradhan during a press conference in Sambalpur. He stressed the need for swift implementation of development projects, reflecting the enthusiastic backing of local residents.
As the monsoon season approaches, Minister Pradhan instructed the district administration to focus on infrastructure resilience and service preparedness. Discussions have begun on establishing a multipurpose cultural center to promote sports, arts, and cultural activities, aligning with the aspirations of Sambalpur’s citizens.
Highlighting major infrastructure projects, Minister Pradhan shared updates on the rehabilitation of the old NH road from Sindurpanka to Naxapalli and the expansion of the Sarla overbridge road to six lanes. Additionally, there are plans to develop an 18-kilometer stretch from Padiabahal to Goshala as a gateway to NH Sambalpur, with a focus on enhancing healthcare facilities and constructing a terminal complex to boost economic growth.
Minister Pradhan also emphasized the importance of fostering a knowledge-based economy in Sambalpur by collaborating with educational institutions to promote skills, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities.
As the master plan takes shape, Minister Pradhan reiterated the government’s commitment to leading Sambalpur towards a prosperous future, characterized by sustainable development and an improved quality of life for its residents.
He also expressed gratitude to the local media for their role in informing and engaging the public, acknowledging their contribution during and after the elections and highlighting the importance of transparent and responsible journalism in the region.
