BHUBANESWAR, JUNE 21, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): The World Skill Center, established by the Government of Odisha in Bhubaneswar, is set to begin its enrollment process for the 2024-25 academic year starting June 22. Aimed at equipping youth with advanced skills essential for national and global industries, the center offers specialized one-year training courses across cutting-edge disciplines.
Prospective candidates from Odisha can apply until August 30, 2024 for enrollment in various advanced courses under the ‘School of Engineering’. The selection process involves a special online entrance test conducted by the World Skill Center.
Among the new courses introduced for the upcoming academic year is ‘Precision Engineering’ under the ‘School of Engineering’. This course includes modules such as Engineering Drawing & Inspection Techniques, 3D CAD/CAM Applications, and CNC Sheet Metal Fabrication, designed to enhance technical proficiency.
Additionally, the center offers courses in Mechanical and Electrical Services, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, and Vertical Transportation (Lift Technology).
Applicants must have completed either a 2-year ITI or a 3-year Diploma from a recognized Government or Private Industrial Training Institute or Polytechnic in Odisha to be eligible for enrollment.
