Camposol partners with Ninjacart to bring high-quality blueberries to India

Delhi, July 17, 2024 (TBB Bureau):  Camposol, Peru’s largest blueberry producer, has announced a strategic partnership with Walmart-backed Ninjacart, India’s leading agri-startup, to introduce high-quality blueberries to Indian consumers. This collaboration leverages Ninjacart’s technology-driven platform to transform the blueberry market in India.

The partnership aims to revolutionize the supply chain of blueberries by using Ninjacart’s digital marketplace, tech-enabled solutions, and data-driven insights. By tapping into Ninjacart’s extensive network of over 100,000 retailers, Camposol plans to secure a reliable and consistent supply of premium blueberries, enhancing accessibility for both consumers and retailers.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalizing the partnership was signed on 17th July 2024, during an event in India. This collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening the availability of blueberries in India and fostering bilateral agricultural ties between Peru and India.

In recent years, the demand for blueberries in India has seen significant double-digit growth. However, there remains a supply gap between imported seasonal consumption and domestic production due to limited access for international exporters to reach Indian consumers, who primarily shop at traditional mom-and-pop stores. To address this challenge, Ninjacart and Camposol have partnered to distribute blueberries across more than 100 cities and through over 100,000 retail outlets in India. This strategic alliance is poised to enhance awareness and adoption, driving growth in the blueberry segment.

Camposol’s crunchy, juicy, tangy blueberries will be available through Ninjacart’s extensive network, including partnerships with major e-commerce platforms and a strong city-level retail presence. Utilizing Ninjacart’s efficient supply chain to minimize wastage, these blueberries will be competitively priced. Maintaining a sophisticated cold chain at 1-2 degrees Celsius from farm to shelf, Ninjacart employs RFID technology at every stage to ensure seamless tracking, faster processing, and efficient segregation. This partnership aims to establish a sustainable blueberry supply chain across India over the long term.
