JSW Steel Odisha Mines Division commemorates founder OP Jindal’s 94th birth anniversary

BARBIL, AUGUST 8, 2024 (TBB BUREAU):  The Odisha Mines Division of JSW Steel marked the 94th birth anniversary of its founder, Shri Om Prakash Jindal, with a floral tribute on Wednesday. Employees from all four mines participated in the heartfelt homage to the legendary industrialist and philanthropist.

At the Bhadrasahi office, the tribute was led by Prasanna Panda, Business Head of Odisha Mines; Subrat Kumar Sahoo, Logistic Head; Biraja Kinkar Das, Head of Project; along with other staff members. They paid their respects and shared inspiring stories of Shri OP Jindal’s visionary leadership.

In conjunction with the anniversary, JSW Foundation, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer, Keonjhar, organized a blood donation camp. Employees generously participated, contributing a total of 65 units of blood, which were donated to the government hospital in Keonjhar.

Shri OP Jindal, renowned for his forward-thinking approach, significantly contributed to India’s economic and social development. He was honoured with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2004 for his exceptional contributions to the steel industry. At the time of his passing, he was serving as Minister of Power in Haryana. He was also a member of the eleventh Lok Sabha.

JSW Steel’s tribute to Shri OP Jindal not only celebrated his legacy but also underscored the company’s commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.
