Jindal Steel & Power celebrates 78th Independence Day at Angul; Reaffirms its commitment to shaping the lives of millions of Indians

Angul, August 15, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) marked the 78th Independence Day on Thursday with great patriotism and enthusiasm at its Angul Steel Plant, underscoring its dedication to nation-building. The celebration, held at OP Jindal School, Angul, was graced by senior management, including Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director in Charge, and Damodar Mittal, Executive Director. The event drew dignitaries from the corporate office, teachers, students, local self-government representatives, and community members.

Speakers paid heartfelt tributes to India’s freedom fighters, honouring those who sacrificed for national unity and the protection of the country. They commended the efforts of steel manufacturers and the government in positioning India as the world’s second-largest steel producer. Emphasizing the legacy of O.P. Jindal and the leadership of Naveen Jindal, they highlighted that Jindal Steel & Power is not just producing steel but also shaping the future of the nation.

The company reaffirmed its mission of inclusive development, emphasizing its commitment to improving the lives of millions of Indians, particularly the underprivileged and socially vulnerable.

The celebration featured captivating patriotic performances by students from O.P. Jindal School and DAV-Savitri Jindal School, which inspired a strong sense of national pride among attendees.

Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director in Charge, expressed gratitude to all attendees and participants for making the day memorable and for their continued support of JSP’s vision for India’s future.

The JSP Foundation, the social arm of Jindal Steel & Power, marked the Independence Day by distributing over 60,000 food packets to 111 schools, 61 Anganwadi centers, senior citizen homes, and children’s homes in Angul district.

The Foundation also conveyed Independence Day greetings from its Chairperson, Shallu Jindal, to local community-based organizations and educational institutions, fostering unity and joy throughout the community.
