NGEL signs JV agreement with RVUNL for development of renewable energy and green hydrogen projects in Rajasthan

New Delhi, September 17, 2024 TBB Bureau): To advance NTPC’s green energy and green hydrogen ambitions, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has entered into a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL), the state-owned power generation company responsible for managing thermal and hydroelectric stations in Rajasthan.

The agreement was signed on September 17, 2024, in Jaipur, in the presence of the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma.

The JVA was formalized between Rajiv Gupta, CEO of NGEL, and Devendra Shringi, CMD of RVUNL, in the presence of Gajendra Singh Khimsar, Minister of Medical and Health; Jogaram Patel, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs; Manju Sharma, Member of Parliament, Jaipur; Alok, ACS (Energy); and other dignitaries from both NGEL and RVUNL.

During the event, the Chief Minister also dedicated 160 MW of the total 320 MW Solar Power Project at Bhainsara, Rajasthan, to the nation.

The newly formed JV company will focus on developing 25 GW of Renewable Energy projects and 1 MMTPA of Green Hydrogen and its derivatives within Rajasthan.
