Sambalpur, September 27, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has reached a remarkable milestone in operational excellence by surpassing 100 million tonnes in coal dispatch for the financial year 2024-25. This achievement was realized on Thursday, a full 16 days ahead of the previous fiscal year’s record.
The significant 100 million tonnes of coal dispatch reflects an impressive 7 per cent overall growth compared to the last fiscal year. Notably, coal despatch to the power sector grew by 9 per cent, highlighting MCL’s unwavering commitment to bolstering the nation’s energy security.
In addition, MCL recorded a commendable 22 per cent increase in environmentally friendly coal dispatch via rail, showcasing the company’s ongoing dedication to sustainable practices.
MCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Uday Anant Kaole lauded the dedication of the team, saying, “Surpassing the 100 million tonnes mark in record time is a testament to the relentless commitment of our workforce. This accomplishment underscores our operational excellence and MCL’s pledge to meet the nation’s energy demands efficiently.”
