Bongaigaon, October 01, 2024 (TBB Bureau): NTPC Bongaigaon has demonstrated its excellence in innovation and teamwork by securing multiple Gold awards at the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) CCQC 2024. Four teams from the plant were honored for their innovative solutions to critical operational challenges, showcasing NTPC Bongaigaon’s commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Team U-235 from the Chemistry Department, led by Shyamal Banerjee (Facilitator) and Apurbajyoti Das (Leader), along with team members Anamika Dutta, Subhadra Basumatary, and Bidyut Debnath, tackled the “Frequent Unavailability of CW Chemical Dosing System.” Their solution, presented at the Kolkata Chapter on September 24, 2024, earned them a prestigious Gold award.
Team Synchrony from C&I Maintenance and Operation Gr-B, comprising Md Mukaram Qureshi (Facilitator), Gaurab Baruah (Leader), and Gunjan Rabha, won Gold for addressing the “Frequent Non-Availability of Mills Due to Thrust Bearing Temperature Failure,” also at the Kolkata Chapter.
At the Varanasi Chapter on September 29, 2024, Team Lakshya from Operation Gr-D — featuring Aditya Nivsarkar (Facilitator), Ram Ratan Barman (Leader), Animesh Halder, Gakul Kumar Ray, and Kwmdwn Basumatary — received another Gold award for solving the “Frequent Overflow of Bottom Ash Overflow Tank.”
Team Samadhan, composed of members from the Hospital, IT, and Store departments, including Bharti Daniel, Ashish Daniel, Puran Pandit, and Sumanta Kumar Sahu, secured Gold at the Pune Chapter on September 20-21, 2024, for their project on “Safe Keeping of Medical Oxygen Cylinders During Refilling.”
