NTPC Bongaigaon pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries

Bongaigaon, October 2, 2024 (TBB Bureau): NTPC Bongaigaon commemorated the birth anniversaries of two of India’s most revered leaders, Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, with a heartfelt tribute, honoring their enduring legacies. The ceremony saw the participation of senior officials, employees, and union representatives, who gathered to pay their respects.

Akhilesh Singh, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, led the floral tribute, emphasizing the profound impact of Mahatma Gandhi on India’s freedom struggle and societal reforms. Addressing the gathering, Singh remarked, “Gandhiji is not just a name; he is a thought. His principles of truth, harmony, and equality continue to guide our nation. The Swachhata (cleanliness) movement, which he championed, must be embraced by all of us in our daily lives.”

In his homage to Lal Bahadur Shastri, Singh fondly remembered the former Prime Minister’s pivotal contributions to modern India, particularly through his iconic slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” which highlighted the vital role of soldiers and farmers in nation-building.

Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operations), also addressed the gathering, highlighting the relevance of Gandhi’s philosophy in today’s world. “As members of the NTPC Bongaigaon family, it is our collective duty to uphold the values of Gandhiji and work towards building a peaceful and just society,” he said. Biswas praised Shastri for his simplicity and integrity, urging everyone to embody these values in both their personal and professional lives.
