Bongaigaon, October 7, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a significant move to bolster sanitation infrastructure at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Basugaon, Kokrajhar, NTPC Bongaigaon, in partnership with the District Administration of Kokrajhar and the Public Works Department (PWD), has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the construction of a new toilet block.

The MoA, valued at Rs 9.35 lakh, was signed by Masanada M. Pertin, Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar, Kabita Deka, Additional Deputy Commissioner, and Ajit Kr. Narzary, Executive Engineer, PWD. This initiative builds on NTPC’s commitment to enhancing educational facilities at JNV Basugaon. Earlier this year, on March 29, 2024, NTPC laid the foundation stone for a dormitory designed to accommodate 80 female students enrolled at the Centres of Excellence (CoE). The latest project aims to construct four toilets and four bathrooms, along with essential water facilities, to improve infrastructure and provide a comfortable learning environment.

Masanada M. Pertin emphasized that education is crucial for community empowerment, noting that initiatives like this not only address infrastructure needs but also contribute to the holistic development of students. Pertin expressed that the collaboration among NTPC, the District Administration, and the PWD showcases a shared commitment to enhancing education and development.

Akhilesh Singh, HoP of NTPC Bongaigaon, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to the overall development of the region, particularly in education. He reiterated NTPC’s commitment to ensuring quality infrastructure for female students, promoting a safe and conducive learning environment.

This project aligns with the Government of India’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, further reinforcing NTPC Bongaigaon’s focus on empowering young women through education and infrastructure support.
