Jharsuguda, October 10, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, in collaboration with the District Health Department of Jharsuguda, organized a health awareness program in the villages of Sunarimunda and Brundamal. The initiative, which reached over 200 local residents, underscores Vedanta Aluminium’s commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of the communities around its operations.
The event featured interactive discussions led by prominent health professionals, including Ms. Labanga Bag, Sarpanch of Badmal, Dr. Sandeep from Apollo Hospital, Jharsuguda, and Dr. Jayanarayan Pujari, a physician from Vedanta’s Mobile Health Unit. The sessions focused on critical health topics such as heart disease, lifestyle-related illnesses, and the importance of adopting healthier habits. Attendees were educated on the risks of poor diet, physical inactivity, smoking, and alcohol consumption, and were provided with practical advice on maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and prioritizing routine health check-ups.
To reinforce the key messages, pamphlets and health leaflets, approved by the District Health Headquarters, were distributed. The event concluded with an engaging interactive session, where attendees could clarify doubts, learn more about government health schemes, and debunk common health misconceptions.

Simple changes, like incorporating a balanced diet and regular exercise, can significantly reduce the risk of heart-related diseases and improve overall well-being. We are proud to be part of this important initiative.”
