New Delhi, October 19, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of Jindal Stainless, has been appointed as the new president of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), one of India’s most prominent industry bodies. Founded in 1925 and headquartered in Kolkata, ICC has played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s business environment.
Jindal, an alumnus of Boston University with a degree in Economics and Business Management, brings a wealth of experience to the position. Under his leadership, Jindal Stainless has grown into one of the country’s leading stainless steel manufacturers, with an annual turnover of Rs 38,000 crore.
Speaking at the event, Jindal outlined his vision for the future of the ICC. “It is my vision to strengthen ICC’s role as a catalyst for economic growth and innovation. Drawing from my experience across various sectors, I aim to promote sustainable business practices, foster inclusive growth, and advocate for policies that empower Indian industries on a global scale,” he said.
Jindal’s appointment was formalized during a ceremony held in New Delhi on Friday, which was attended by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, marking the start of a new chapter for the organization under his dynamic leadership.
