Pune, November 1, 2024 (TBB Bureau): The Association of Indian Forging Industry (AIFI), the apex body representing the Indian forging sector, recently hosted a special session in Pune on “Innovative Technology Solutions and Skill Development.” The event aimed to address the industry’s evolving needs by bringing together leaders, experts, and stakeholders to discuss advancements in technology and strategies for workforce upskilling.
The session focused on the industry’s need to evolve with rapidly changing technological trends. Key presentations covered two main topics: CNC Skill Development with Advanced CNC Simulators and Revolutionizing Forging: The Impact of 3D Printing Technology. These sessions underscored the growing role of cutting-edge technologies in modernizing forging processes.
On the skill development front, Prof. Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, Founding Vice Chancellor of D.Y. Patil International University, Akurdi, Pune, shared insights on integrating forging technology into engineering curricula. He emphasized the importance of enhancing industry professionals’ skills through robust collaboration between academia and industry.
The event also featured a presentation on Energy Price Risk Management, adding depth to the discussions around operational efficiency and risk mitigation in the forging sector.
