TPCODL powers Baliyatra 2024 with unmatched preparations and enhanced safety measures

Bhubaneswar, November 13, 2024 (TBB Bureau): TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a collaboration between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, is playing a pivotal role in powering Baliyatra 2024, one of Asia’s largest open trade fairs. With extensive measures to ensure safe and reliable electricity supply, TPCODL is committed to making this year’s Baliyatra a smooth and memorable event for millions of attendees.

Scheduled to begin on November 15 in Cuttack, Baliyatra celebrates Odisha’s rich maritime heritage, attracting visitors from across the globe with its vibrant cultural exhibits, historical displays, handloom showcases, and diverse culinary offerings. This year, TPCODL has meticulously electrified the entire 130-acre fairground, providing approximately 1,000 temporary power connections to stall owners. The streamlined application and connection process have been widely appreciated by vendors, contributing to an efficient and stress-free setup.

In both the upper and lower fairgrounds, TPCODL has prioritized safety with extensive precautions. Key initiatives include fencing substations, replacing bare conductors with Low Tension Aerial Bunched (LT AB) cables, and strategically placing fire extinguishers across the grounds. These measures underscore TPCODL’s commitment to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for the public.

To ensure rapid response to any technical issues, TPCODL has established 10 dedicated Fuse Call Centers on-site, equipped to handle grievances and support seamless power management throughout the event.

Reflecting on these preparations, Arvind Singh, CEO of TPCODL, shared, “As Baliyatra unfolds, TPCODL remains dedicated to making this festive season a secure and enjoyable experience for all. With our comprehensive planning and robust infrastructure, we are ensuring that the power needs of the festival are met efficiently and safely.”

With these dedicated efforts, TPCODL reaffirms its commitment to community welfare and safety, ensuring Baliyatra 2024 remains a vibrant and uninterrupted celebration of Odisha’s heritage, providing a seamless and memorable experience for all who attend.
