Jindal Asha celebrates inclusivity and talent at 3rd Annual Sports Day for children with special needs

Angul, November 27, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Jindal Asha, the dedicated wing of Jindal Foundation committed to empowering and educating children with special needs (Divyang), proudly hosted its 3rd Annual Sports Day on November 26-27, 2024. The event celebrated the indomitable spirit, resilience, and extraordinary talents of its students, emphasizing the transformative power of sports in fostering inclusivity and personal growth.

The two-day event was a vibrant showcase of enthusiasm and determination, as children participated in a range of specially curated activities including running, shot-put, beads spoon race, ball transfer, musical chairs, and even a no-fire cooking competition for parents. Each activity was thoughtfully designed to accommodate diverse abilities, ensuring that every child had an equal opportunity to shine.

The celebrations began with an inspiring opening ceremony, featuring a parade of participants and an address by Jayanta Kumar Mohanty, GM & Head of CSR, Jindal Steel & Power, Angul. Lauding the children, therapists, and support staff, Mohanty said, “Events like these not only highlight the extraordinary capabilities of our students but also reinforce the importance of inclusion and accessibility in every aspect of life.”

Parents, therapists, and the support staff played an integral role in creating a joyful and inclusive environment. The Annual Sports Day reaffirmed Jindal Asha’s unwavering commitment to fostering confidence, teamwork, and holistic development among Divyang children.

The closing ceremony added a festive touch, with heartfelt celebrations of the participants’ achievements. Seema Malhan and Anita Mittal of Jindal Mahila Samiti graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honor respectively. Addressing the audience, they emphasized the significance of such platforms in enabling children with special needs to explore their full potential.

“This event is a testament to the strength and capabilities of these students. It is not about winning or losing but about participation, courage, and the pursuit of excellence,” said Malhan.
