Hindalco Industries launches ‘Project Anveesha’ to revolutionize education in Hirakud

Bhubaneswar, November 28, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a significant step towards modernizing education, Hindalco Industries Limited, an Aditya Birla Group company, has launched its ambitious digital classroom initiative, ‘Project Anveesha’, in seven high schools near its Hirakud plant in Sambalpur district.

The initiative aims to transform traditional classrooms into state-of-the-art, tech-enabled learning spaces. Equipped with smart boards, e-learning platforms, AI interfaces, and IoT-based systems, these classrooms offer an interactive and immersive learning experience. The digital platform also supports multi-language content in Odia, Hindi, and English, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for a diverse student body.

Emphasizing the transformative potential of the initiative, Sandip Roy, Head of Hindalco’s Hirakud FRP plant, said: “We are committed to expanding this initiative to benefit more students in Hirakud. By integrating technology into education, Project Anveesha aims to foster digital literacy and enhance the overall learning experience. This initiative is a testament to our dedication to empowering the next generation through modern education.”

“Project Anveesha is expected to reshape the educational landscape, allowing students to gain digital literacy while enhancing their overall academic experience,” he added.

The program has been warmly received by the local community.

Expressing her gratitude, Himadari Dehuri, Headmistress of UPMS Larpank said, “Our students are thrilled to embrace this new way of learning. The digital tools provided through Project Anveesha make education more engaging and effective. We deeply appreciate Hindalco’s commitment to supporting the education sector in our region.”

This initiative aligns with the Aditya Birla Group’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) vision, conducted under the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, chaired by Rajashree Birla. In Odisha, the Group’s CSR efforts reach over five lakh people, positively impacting more than two lakh lives across 128 villages.

Project Anveesha underscores Hindalco’s commitment to leveraging technology to drive societal change. By aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) to eradicate poverty and hunger, the Group is actively contributing to building a better and more sustainable future for the communities it serves.
