Vedanta Aluminium observes World Diabetes Day in Jharsuguda, raising awareness on critical health issue

Jharsuguda, November 28, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, in collaboration with the Jharsuguda District Health Department, marked World Diabetes Day with a robust health awareness campaign in the region. The initiative, aligned with this year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps,” aimed to educate and empower the local community about diabetes prevention, early detection, and management.

The campaign witnessed the participation of over 200 residents from Bhurkamunda village who availed themselves of free Random Blood Sugar (RBS) testing to evaluate their health and identify potential risks. The initiative also included consultations and interactive sessions to guide participants on proactive health management.

Highlighting the importance of such initiatives, Dr. Dolamani Patel, Head of the Non-Communicable Disease Department, Jharsuguda, conducted an insightful session on diabetes management and lifestyle changes. She remarked, “Diabetes is one of the most pressing public health challenges today. Initiatives like these empower communities with the knowledge and tools needed to manage and prevent this condition effectively, improving their quality of life.”
