Bhubaneswar, December 6, 2024 (TBB Bureau): The KIIT Deemed-to-be-University campus buzzed with energy and creativity as it hosted the much-anticipated KI3 Fest: Idea, Innovation, and Impact. Organized by the Dean’s Gold Klub in collaboration with IQAC, SRC, CRF, KSAC, and IE, the fest brought together bright young minds to explore and present solutions under the theme, ‘Frontier Technologies for Viksit Bharat @ 2047.’
The event showcased an impressive array of over 250 prototypes created by 600 students from 24 schools across the KIIT group of institutes. These groundbreaking projects reflected the ingenuity and passion of India’s future leaders, fostering a culture of innovation and impactful problem-solving.
Brig. (Dr.) Laxmi Charan Patnaik, Former Chairman of OPSC, delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the pivotal role of educational institutions in fostering innovation. “All major innovations, from 3D printing to blockchain technology, originated in universities. Under the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat initiative, India is now exporting defense products worth millions of dollars, showcasing our robust innovation ecosystem,” he remarked, applauding government policies and Odisha’s conducive environment for startups and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, emphasized the transformative potential of impactful ideas. “An idea without impact is of no value. KI3 Fest serves as a platform for young innovators to transform their ideas into meaningful solutions,” he stated, reaffirming KIIT’s commitment to nurturing a culture of ideation and creativity.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh attributed the event’s success to the visionary leadership of KIIT’s founder. “Startups are the future. KI3 Fest lays the foundation for entrepreneurial excellence and innovation,” he said.
Registrar Prof. J.R. Mohanty lauded the diverse participation, noting, “For the first time, students from ITI, PG, and diploma programs joined hands with others, creating a vibrant research environment across the schools of KIIT.”
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Prof. Srinivas Patnaik, Chairperson of the Dean’s Gold Klub, who expressed gratitude to participants, collaborators, and organizers for making the event a resounding success.
