Bhubaneswar, December 16, 2024 (TBB Bureau): TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, celebrated Quality Month 2024 under the inspiring theme, “Quality: From Compliance to Performance.” The initiative showcased the company’s dedication to fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.
The month-long activities focused on key areas including Process Excellence, Continual Improvement, Visual Workplace Management, and Capability Building. Notable milestones achieved during the celebrations included the launch of the TQM Workbook on Daily Management (DM), the formation of Quality Circles, and the identification of model 5S locations. Furthermore, the Annual QCC and Prayaas Competitions saw active participation from 72 Prayaas teams and 14 Quality Control Circle (QCC) teams, underscoring TPCODL’s commitment to inclusive and collaborative quality initiatives.
The grand closing ceremony, held at the Management Development Centre (MDC) in Bhubaneswar, was attended by TPCODL’s CEO and TQM Core Committee Chairperson, Arvind Singh, along with other senior leaders. In his address, Mr. Singh highlighted the significance of Total Quality Management (TQM) as a vital framework for refining processes, adapting to customer needs, and nurturing a culture of ownership and continuous learning. “TQM at TPCODL is a cornerstone of our efforts to refine processes, meet evolving customer needs, and foster a culture of ownership and continuous learning,” he remarked.
The ceremony also served as a platform to honor the winners of various Quality Month initiatives and acknowledge the contributions of individuals and teams who have significantly advanced TPCODL’s quality journey. Leadership insights shared during the event emphasized risk-based thinking, adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards, and achieving operational excellence through a “First Time Right” approach.
