Paradip, December 16, 2024 (TBB Bureau): The 24th All India Major Port Cultural Meet 2024-25, a four-day celebration of artistic talent and cultural diversity, concluded on the evening of December 15 at Jayadev Sadan, Paradip. Organized by Paradip Port Authority (PPA) in collaboration with the Major Ports Sports Control Board, the event left an indelible mark on the hearts of the port township residents with its scintillating performances.
Gracing the valedictory function as the Chief Guest, P.L. Haranadh, Chairman of PPA, expressed his gratitude to the participants for providing four days of unforgettable entertainment. He lauded the efforts of the organizers and participants for showcasing exceptional talent and fostering cultural unity.
The meet witnessed the participation of around 200 talented individuals from eight major ports across the country. Team Paradip Port Authority emerged as the overall champion, cementing its place at the top of the cultural leaderboard. Syama Prasad Mukerjee Port, Kolkata, and Mumbai Port Authority secured the first and second runners-up positions, respectively.
Among the individual accolades, Soumya Mishra of Team PPA won the first prize in the light vocal category, earning widespread applause for her remarkable performance.
D.N. Sondhi, Chairman of the Organising Committee, presided over the event’s proceedings, with Capt. A.C. Sahoo, Vice Chairman, Dr. D.P. Sethy, Secretary, Rabi Dash, Coordinator, and Ranjan Rashmi Beura, Joint Secretary of the Organising Committee, in attendance. The valedictory function was seamlessly compered by Sriman Narayan Mishra, Deputy Traffic Manager, PPA.
The event was a true testament to the vibrant culture and artistic richness of India’s port communities, reinforcing the spirit of camaraderie and creativity among the participating ports.
