Anuj Saraswat takes over as Chairman of ICSI Eastern India Regional Council

Anuj Saraswat has assumed the role of Chairman for the Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) for the year 2025.

In the election for the new office bearers, Bishal Harlalka was appointed Vice Chairman, Satish Kumar was elected Secretary, and Santosh Kumar became Treasurer. Their appointments mark a new chapter for the regional council as they embark on a year of focused leadership.

In his address, the immediate past chairman, Mohit Shaw expressed his confidence in the leadership of Anuj Saraswat, highlighting his potential to guide the council through the dynamic challenges of the year. Ankur Yadav, Joint Secretary (SG) & Head of EIRO, also extended his best wishes to the incoming Chairman, marking a moment of collective support.

Saraswat, acknowledging the trust and support from the Regional Council, expressed his gratitude for their faith and highlighted the valuable guidance of Mohit Shaw during his tenure. He called for continued collaboration to push forward the council’s initiatives in 2025, ensuring a year of progress.

The EIRC Regional Council oversees 8 chapters, including Bhubaneswar, Dhanbad, Guwahati (North Eastern), Hooghly, Jamshedpur, Patna, Ranchi, and Siliguri.

Meanwhile, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has announced new leadership, with Dhananjay Shukla being elected President and Pawan G Chandak as Vice President. The announcement was made on Sunday, highlighting Shukla’s significant expertise in corporate law, securities law, and taxation.

ICSI is a prominent body with more than 75,000 members and approximately 2 lakh students, underscoring its influence in the field of company secretaries.
