Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday assured investors that his government will establish a dedicated mechanism to ensure the swift implementation of the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and investment intents secured at the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025.
The two-day conclave witnessed the signing of 145 investment-related MoUs worth ₹12.89 lakh crore, with an anticipated generation of 8.94 lakh job opportunities across key sectors such as chemicals & petrochemicals, textiles, mining and metallurgy, renewable energy, IT/ITeS, tourism, and food processing. Additionally, 448 investment intention forms were received, representing a potential ₹3.84 lakh crore investment and 3.92 lakh jobs. In total, Odisha secured commitments for 593 projects, amounting to ₹16.73 lakh crore and 12.88 lakh jobs.
Addressing the valedictory session, Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the government’s commitment to eliminating bureaucratic hurdles and ensuring timely execution of projects. “I am aware that ‘cost and time over-runs’ are major concerns for industries. My government will ensure there are no unnecessary delays in project execution. My office remains accessible to all investors, and I am just a phone call away,” he assured.
Majhi highlighted that the conclave had reaffirmed Odisha’s position as a premier global investment destination, with participation from delegates representing over 16 countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia. He urged investors to leverage Odisha’s strategic location as a gateway to Southeast Asian markets and establish the state as a global export hub.
Acknowledging the concerns raised by industry leaders during the conclave, CM Majhi assured that his administration would address every suggestion and introduce necessary reforms to enhance the business ecosystem and further strengthen Odisha’s standing in the ‘ease of doing business’ index.
“The success of this conclave is a testament to our government’s vision of an investor-friendly Odisha. With progressive policies, a robust single-window clearance system, and a focus on ‘ease, speed, and cost of doing business’, Odisha offers a conducive environment for industries to flourish,” Majhi said.
Reaffirming his government’s ambition, he concluded, “Together, let us build a ‘Samrudh Odisha’ that aligns with the aspirations of every Odia and contributes to ‘Viksit Bharat 2047.’ This is the time. This is the right time.”
