In a significant step towards improving healthcare access in Sundargarh district, Mahanadi Mines and Minerals Private Limited (MMMPL) has launched a free ambulance service for residents of Bijahan, Bhograkachar, Girisima, and Jharpalam villages in Hemgir Block. The initiative, part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aims to provide crucial emergency transportation, ensuring timely medical care for thousands of villagers.
The service was officially inaugurated at a ceremony in Bijahan village, attended by key dignitaries, including Dharmendra Dubey, MMMPL Site Head and General Manager; Surendra Pasayat, Public Health Extension Officer; Panchayat Ward Members Bhagwatia Gadhei and Deepak Dehri, representing Bijahan and Bhograkachar, respectively; and Sachin Dubey from the CSR department. The event also saw participation from local ward members, health department officials, and numerous villagers from the beneficiary communities.
Given the limited healthcare infrastructure in remote areas, the ambulance service is expected to play a vital role in addressing medical emergencies. Villagers welcomed the initiative, expressing their appreciation for MMMPL’s efforts in enhancing healthcare accessibility.
MMMPL’s commitment to community welfare remains at the forefront of its CSR initiatives, with this latest endeavor reinforcing its dedication to making a meaningful, long-term impact on the lives of local residents.
