Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati paid his maiden visit to Paradip Port on Friday, where he was accorded a warm welcome by the Paradip Port Authority (PPA). Upon his arrival at the PPA Administrative Building, he was received with cordial greetings by PPA Chairman PL Haranadh and senior port officials. A ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Unit at PPA in his honour.
Adding to the warm reception, a group of NCC Naval Wing cadets from the Port Trust High School welcomed the Governor with flowers, underscoring the significance of youth engagement and maritime heritage in the port community.
During an official briefing, Chairman PL Haranadh provided an insightful presentation on the port’s infrastructural and technological advancements, ongoing modernization efforts, and future expansion plans. He elaborated on various initiatives undertaken to enhance Ease of Doing Business and promote Green Port practices, reinforcing Paradip Port’s commitment to sustainability and efficiency.
Impressed by the rapid strides in port development, Governor Kambhampati commended the efforts of PPA in strengthening port infrastructure and operations. He lauded the authority’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, recognizing its role in bolstering Odisha’s economic growth. As a mark of appreciation, the Governor was presented with a memento by the PPA Chairman.
In a bid to gain firsthand insights into the port’s operations, Dr. Kambhampati toured the harbour area, where he observed key activities and operational frameworks driving the port’s efficiency. Reinforcing the port’s dedication to environmental sustainability, he actively participated in a plantation drive near Gate No. 3, symbolizing the port’s Clean and Green initiative.
