The inaugural MGM T20 Championship 2025 is officially underway at the MGM School of Sports, a world-class cricket academy located in Kapursingh, Cuttack. Running from February 8 to February 11, this high-profile tournament is set to highlight emerging cricket talent and further elevate Odisha’s sporting community.
The four-day competition was launched with an inauguration ceremony graced by legendary cricketers Ravi Shastri and Bharat Arun, who have joined hands with the Coaching Beyond Cricket Excellence Centre to bring this exciting event to life. Established by Shastri and his former Team India coaching colleagues, Arun and R Sridhar, Coaching Beyond has been a leading force in cricket training.
Shastri and Arun were joined by renowned cricketers, including former international bowler Venkatapathy Raju and Odisha’s very own cricket star Debashish Mohanty, to celebrate the tournament’s commencement.
Sharing his enthusiasm for the event, Ravi Shastri said, “MGM School of Sports has outstanding infrastructure and residential facilities that will help young cricketers hone their skills. The MGM T20 Championship 2025 is an invaluable opportunity for players to display their talent and take their dreams to the next level.”
Expressing pride in hosting the tournament, MGM Group CMD Pankaj Lochan Mohanty said, “The MGM T20 Championship 2025 is not just a competition but a stepping stone for young cricketers. It’s about giving them the platform to grow and helping strengthen the sport in Odisha.”
The tournament features teams from the MGM School of Sports and the Coaching Beyond Cricket Excellence Centre, representing Chennai, Hyderabad, and Vadodara. Matches are being closely observed by scouts, coaches, and potential sponsors, with the aim of identifying promising players who can move forward in their cricket careers.
