Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd. (FACOR) reaffirmed its commitment to women’s empowerment by hosting SHG Sammelan 2.0 on February 11, 2025. Held at Ostapal School Ground, the event showcased the entrepreneurial spirit of local women through FACOR Sathi Pragati, a dedicated livelihood initiative.
The event featured 12 vibrant stalls representing Self-Help Groups (SHGs), each displaying a diverse range of locally made products, from bamboo crafts and handmade paper plates to agarbattis, spices, slippers, and electric lights. Attendees witnessed the remarkable creativity and resilience of women entrepreneurs, reinforcing the importance of providing them with platforms to expand their businesses and achieve financial independence.
Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, 
Siphelele Ntshangase (Head Exploration, FACOR) lauded the participants’ dedication and encouraged them to continue shaping a brighter future. The event also featured cultural performances that celebrated Odia heritage through traditional music and dance, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Through such initiatives, FACOR continues to drive social inclusion and economic empowerment, enabling women to become self-reliant entrepreneurs while preserving the cultural fabric of Odisha.
FACOR, a key producer of High Carbon Ferro Chrome/Charge Chrome in India, plays a critical role in the steel and stainless steel industries. Established in 1983, the company became part of the Vedanta Group in September 2020. With an annual production capacity of 142 KTPA of Charge Chrome/Ferro Chrome and a 100 MW power plant in Bhadrak, Odisha, FACOR also operates a 320 KTPA chrome ore mining complex in Jajpur and Dhenkanal districts.
