Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, has contributed to the development of a modern administrative facility for the District Athletic Association, Jharsuguda, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing sports and athletic talent in the region. As part of this initiative, the company provided INR 50 lakh to support the construction of the building, ensuring a well-equipped space for advancing the district’s sporting aspirations.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Suresh Pujari, Revenue Minister, Government of Odisha; Durgpati Prasad Tamang, Commandant, OSAP, 2nd Battalion, Jharsuguda; and Bijay Das, Jharsuguda District Sports Vice President.
The newly constructed administrative building, equipped with essential infrastructure and modern amenities, will enhance the association’s operational efficiency, facilitating better planning and execution of training programs, competitions, and talent development initiatives. By supporting this project, Vedanta Aluminium aims to strengthen the sporting ecosystem in Jharsuguda, enabling young athletes to hone their skills and achieve success at state and national levels.
Appreciating the initiative, Suresh Pujari, Revenue Minister of Odisha, said, “This new administrative facility marks a significant milestone for the sporting community of Jharsuguda. With better infrastructure and operational efficiency, we can now streamline our activities and focus on developing local athletes. I thank Vedanta Aluminium for its continuous support in fostering sports growth in the region.”
