Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd. (FACOR) marked the 54th National Safety Week with a series of impactful initiatives, reaffirming its dedication to fostering a zero-harm workplace. Celebrated as part of the Monthly Safety Standdown, the event aligned with the theme “Safety and Well-Being: Crucial for Viksit Bharat”, emphasizing the company’s unwavering focus on employee well-being and workplace safety.
CEO Pankaj Sharma inaugurated the event with a flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by the introduction of the safety slogan “Suraksha Karein Hum Teen Ki – Swayam, Sathi, Aur Machine Ki“, reinforcing the responsibility of individuals towards self-safety, colleague safety, and machine safety. Employees took a collective safety oath and participated in a commitment-signing ceremony, underscoring their dedication to upholding the highest safety standards.
Throughout the week, a range of awareness programs and training sessions were conducted across FACOR’s plant, mine, and township locations. Employees, business partners, and their families actively engaged in initiatives designed to strengthen the company’s safety culture. A notable highlight was the Suraksha Sankalp Safety Stand Down, where stakeholders collectively pledged to maintain and enhance workplace safety.
As part of its Reward & Recognition Program, FACOR felicitated individuals who demonstrated outstanding safety practices. The Safety Awareness Session and Quiz Competition, which engaged 155 personnel, further reinforced key safety principles.
Several specialized training sessions were conducted on Hazard Identification, HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) Making, and Incident Investigation, with 55 personnel participating to enhance their knowledge of safety measures.
A Safety Rally was organized at the plant site, creating awareness on this year’s safety theme and reinforcing safety protocols among employees and business partners.
To encourage creative engagement with safety concepts, employees took part in various competitions, including Poster & Slogan Making, Crossword Puzzles, Word Search, Scramble, and Model Making. A street play performed by Business Partner teams effectively delivered safety messages through powerful storytelling. Besides, various Workplace Safety Competitions were held to instill best safety practices and improve vigilance among employees.
The closing ceremony featured an insightful address by Chief Guest Subhashree Deepali, Assistant Director, Factory & Boilers, who emphasized the importance of proactive safety measures in industrial operations. She was joined by CHSEO Krutisunder Mohapatra and COO Kamod Singh, who shared their perspectives on continuous safety improvement. The event concluded with the recognition of safety champions for their exceptional contributions to maintaining a safe workplace.
