JSPL Foundation Chairperson Shallu Jindal on Wednesday inaugurated a multipurpose hall inside the Adruta Children Home campus at Panchamahala, here. The hall having 1300 square feet built up area, would be used by 120 inmates of Adruta Children Home for their dining, study as well as indoor games and recreational activities. The hall also houses a library with more than 200 books for the children.
Inaugurating the hall, Jindal said, “Inmates of Adruta Children Home are special for JSPL Foundation. I hope this multipurpose hall will provide a good ambiance for the students to spend their valuable time by reading books and rejuvenate themselves by playing different indoor games.” She wished success and good health for the Adruta inmates.
JSPL Foundation, the CSR arm of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), has been supporting orphan children of Adruta Children Home since 2016. The Foundation has built a three storied building for girls and provided a dedicated school bus for them for commuting to their schools.
Under Project “Sneha”, the children of Adruta Home are being provided with nutritious food since 2009. Regular health check-up camps to monitor the BMI status of the children are also conducted. JSPL Foundation has also been assisting the school pass outs to undergo technical training at OP Jindal Community College and other polytechnic colleges, so that they become employable through their technical skills. Some of the inmates are also supported for their education at O.P. Jindal School, situated inside the JSPL campus.
JSPL’s President and Head (Group CSR & Sustainability) Prashant Hota, General Manager (CSR) Puspalata Satapathy and other officials of JSPL and Adruta Children Home were present on the occasion.
Principal of Adruta Children Home Sagarika Mishra thanked JSPL Foundation and its Chairperson Shallu Jindal for the continued support to the orphan children.
