As eyebrows were raised when the television commercial starring former India skipper and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly wasn’t to be seen after the former cricketer was admitted to the Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata with “chest discomfort, heaviness of head, vomiting and a spell of dizziness”, Adani Wilmar Deputy CEO Angshu Mallick on Tuesday said that Ganguly will continue to be their brand ambassador.
Ganguly, who endorses Fortune Rice Bran Cooking Oil, felt discomfort on January 2 while performing physical exercise in the home gymnasium at around 11 am. Following this, doctors had conducted angioplasty on him.
Explaining that ricebran oil is not a medicine but only a cooking oil, Mallick said, “Ricebran oil is one of the world’s most healthy oil. It contains natural antioxidants. Gama Oryzonal present in ricebran oil reduces bad cholesterol and improves lipid profile. Sourav Ganguly became our brand ambassador endorsing our fortune ricebran oil” “There are several factors which affect heart ailments including dietary and hereditary issues. We shall continue to work with Sourav and he will continue to be our brand ambassador. We have only taken a temporary break in our TV commercial till we again sit with Sourav and take things forward. This is a very unfortunate incident and can happen with anyone,” he added.
