As part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahostav’ celebration, Hindalco-Hirakud in collaboration with the Jawahar Udyan management, flagged off a cleanliness drive.
Led by Hindalco Hirakud Cluster Head Kailash Pandey, the volunteering by Hindalco employees and locals for a clean and green Jawahar Udyan was indeed encouraging. Plastic, polythene and other waste in the locality was picked up, and the garden wore a spruced nice look. The optics was amazing.
Pandey urged the participants to follow the dictum “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” and root for this national move.
Nehru Yuva Kendra’s Marianus Bilung, who graced the programme as the Guest of Honour, was all praise for Hindalco’s commitment to keep the Jawahar Udyan, a high spot for tourists, an attractive destination for all visitors at this locale.
Among Hindalco’s key executives who graced the programme included Unit HR Head Krishna Padhi, GM-Liaisoning Krishna Pandey, and Sukant Mohapatra and Saroj Acharya from the CSR team. The Nehru Yuba Kendra’s Nayan Sahu, Maichel Kullu, Nalini Sunia, and Hirakud Dam Assistant Executive Engineer Ashoka Nayak were participated in the cleanliness drive.
