The Jharsuguda Unit of Vedanta Limited kick started the Van Mahotsav Week’ 22 celebrations with a painting competition for kids on the theme “Conservation of our Forests” organised at Vedanta Meadows Township on Sunday.
Biju Patnaik Wildlife Award winner Ashish Shukla and Jharsuguda Bird Watchers Group member Ritesh Sharma graced the occasion along with Vedanta Jharsuguda PR & Communications Head Ashwin Chand.
The environmentalists elucidated about the importance of trees in our lives and the need to nurture a green ecosystem.
Winners of the painting competition were felicitated and saplings were presented to the participants.
The weeklong celebrations will also include plantation drives in the community and plant premises, and awareness sessions for employees, kids, family members and business partners.
