Paradip, December 12, 2024 (TBB Bureau): The 24th All India Major Port Cultural Meet 2024-25 commenced on a grand note at Jayadev Sadan, Paradip Port Authority (PPA), on Thursday. The event, which celebrates India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, brought together talented performers from eight major ports across the country, creating a vibrant display of unity in diversity.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Nilabhra Dasgupta, Deputy Chairman of PPA, who officially launched the event. In his address, Dasgupta highlighted the importance of cultural expression as a mirror of the human soul and a reflection of India’s traditions and natural beauty. His remarks resonated with the audience, setting an inspiring tone for the festivities.
Joining Dasgupta was the Guest of Honour, AK Bose, Advisor of Traffic at PPA. Bose spoke passionately about the power of cultural events like these in fostering connections across diverse communities, emphasizing the spirit of unity among the participating ports.
With approximately 200 participants from major ports around the country, the meet promises several days of captivating performances in classical vocal, light vocal, instrumental music, dance, and drama. The inaugural evening featured an enthralling performance by the DPA Kandla team, earning accolades from the audience and setting high expectations for the days ahead.
The event, which runs until December 15, is being coordinated under the leadership of DN Sondhi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee. Notable speeches by Capt. AC Sahoo, Deputy Chairman, and Dr. DP Sethi, Secretary of the organizing committee, added to the grandeur of the opening day. The lively and engaging compering by Ranjan Rashmi Beura, Joint Secretary of the organizing committee, further enhanced the evening’s charm.
