The 54th National Safety Day and Week celebrations commenced at Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on Tuesday with the theme, “Safety & Well-being Crucial for Viksit Bharat.” The event was inaugurated by PPA Chairman PL Haranadh, who hoisted the Safety Week flag and administered the safety pledge, reinforcing the port’s commitment to workplace safety.
To mark the occasion, Haranadh flagged off an awareness rally, which saw enthusiastic participation from PPA employees and workers. The rally, accompanied by a dedicated “Safety Rath,” started from the PPA Administrative Building and concluded at Gate No. 4, spreading awareness about workplace safety measures.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of PPA Deputy Chairman Nilabhra Dasgupta, Chief Mechanical Engineer Susil Chandra Nahak, along with senior officers and heads of departments (HODs) from PPA. The event was coordinated by VR Ramu, Director of M/s. Chennai Radha, and A Ramesh, Regional Manager.
As part of the weeklong celebrations, various awareness activities have been planned, including safety essay writing, debates, and poster competitions for employees and port users. Additionally, seminars and dock safety training programs will be conducted to enhance safety consciousness and best practices among stakeholders.
PPA remains steadfast in its commitment to workplace safety and employee well-being, aligning with the national vision of a safer and more developed India.
