In a significant step towards empowering local youth through skill development, Aditya Alumina Refinery, Kansariguda — a unit of Hindalco Industries Limited under the Aditya Birla Group — launched its flagship initiative, Project Kaushal, on Saturday at Phuljoba. The project aims to enhance employability by equipping young individuals with technical skills.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed the official launch of Project Kaushal’s first batch of ITI training, inaugurated by Mazhar Beig, Unit Head & President of Aditya Alumina Refinery. The event also marked the unveiling of the Kaushal logo, symbolizing the refinery’s commitment to fostering sustainable livelihoods through skill enhancement.
The launch event was attended by ITI aspirants, their parents, community leaders, opinion makers, and senior officials from Aditya Alumina Refinery.
In the project’s initial phase, 50 ITI aspirants from the local community have been selected to undergo specialized technical training in the electrical and fitter trades. The two-year ITI program will be followed by a one-year on-the-job training module in Bhubaneswar, ensuring comprehensive skill development and practical exposure.
Addressing the gathering, Mazhar Beig extended his best wishes to the selected candidates, urging them to approach their training with dedication and focus. He also announced plans to launch an apparel training program for young women in the region, further expanding skill development opportunities. Beig expressed confidence that Project Kaushal would play a vital role in nurturing a skilled workforce and driving socio-economic progress in the region.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Kausikisaran Mishra, Vice President (Operations); Deepak Mohanty, Head (HR); Basudeb Khuntia, Head (F&C); Siba Mohapatra, Cluster CSR Head; and Dr. Bibhudatta Mohapatra, Vice President (Corporate Communication). The program was coordinated by Tanmaya Mohanty, Head (CSR & R&R), Aditya Alumina Refinery.
The ceremony concluded with heartfelt gratitude expressed by parents, who lauded the company’s proactive efforts in empowering local youth through meaningful skill development initiatives.
