The 24th Annual Invitation Cup Golf Tournament concluded on a high note at the Paradip Port Golf Course, with Ajay Kumar Sahu of Bhubaneswar Golf Club emerging as the Overall Gross Champion. The prestigious event, held from March 1st to 2nd, 2025, was jointly organized by the Paradip Golf Club and Paradip Port Sports Council.
The two-day tournament saw a strong participation of 77 golfers from nine leading golf clubs across India, showcasing intense competition and skillful play. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by PL Haranadh, Chairman of the Paradip Port Authority (PPA), who presented the winners with their awards.
In the handicap categories, Akshay Chandra Sutar of Paradip Golf Club took home the title of Champion in the Handicap (0-12) category. Meanwhile, Oscar Dungdung claimed victory in the Handicap (13-18) category, and Debiprasad Satapathy of Bhubaneswar Golf Club triumphed in the Handicap (19-24) category.
Angela Dungdung, a woman golfer from Paradip Golf Club, emerged victorious in the Ladies Putting category, further adding to the event’s excitement.
The successful organization of the tournament was a result of the collaborative efforts of Paradip Golf Club’s working president, Babul Sikdar, Secretary Manoj Kumar Mahanta, Captain AC Sutar, and Dr. DP Sethi, Working President of GKS. Their dedication ensured the smooth execution of the event, which became a significant milestone in the region’s sporting calendar.
