ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) marked World Health Day across its operational locations in Odisha with a series of impactful health and wellness initiatives, aligned with the global theme for 2025 — “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.” The observance reaffirmed the company’s steadfast commitment to promoting health, safety, and well-being among its employees, partners, and surrounding communities.

At the Paradeep Complex, the day began with a vibrant walkathon for employees and their families, organized by the medical team within the plant premises. The event set a spirited tone for the day and was followed by informative sessions on nutrition, a Zumba fitness workshop, and health consultations addressing orthopedic and joint health, posture correction, and neurological concerns.

To further drive awareness around preventive healthcare, the medical team conducted Bone Mass Density tests, Blood Pressure and Random Blood Sugar screenings, and offered personalized guidance on weight management strategies.

The Safety team complemented these efforts with a fitness session at the Power Plant and a knowledge-sharing webinar on Chemical Risk Assessment. Employees also engaged in an interactive session focusing on chemical safety and occupational health, which was met with enthusiastic participation.

Meanwhile, the Odisha Project team observed the day with a holistic approach — organizing a Yoga session and initiating large-scale health and hygiene awareness drives. Cleanliness campaigns were conducted across work and residential areas of contract employees, and a dedicated session was held to raise awareness about safe use of display screen equipment (DSE).

At the Dabuna Beneficiation Plant in Keonjhar, the team hosted awareness sessions at the DD Sports Complex, led by doctors from the Dabuna Occupational Health Centre (OHC), focusing on the importance of preventive care and healthy habits.

In Thakurani Mines, the mining division, in partnership with HelpAge India Foundation, organized a special awareness session at the Community Health Dispensary in Dalki. The session focused on disease prevention and healthy lifestyles, drawing participation from AM/NS India employees, workers, and local community members.

These diverse initiatives across Odisha underscore AM/NS India’s unwavering dedication to nurturing a culture of health, safety, and care — not just within its operational boundaries, but extending meaningfully into the communities it serves.
