Bengaluru, August 26, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Amazon India has announced a substantial reduction in selling fees across various product categories, effective September 9, 2024. This move aims to support sellers as they gear up for the upcoming festive season.
The fee cuts, ranging from 3 per cent to 12 per cent, will notably benefit sellers of affordable products priced under Rs. 500. For example, sellers of printed t-shirts priced at Rs. 299 will see their referral fee drop from 13.5 per cent to just 2 per cent, resulting in savings of Rs. 34 per unit. Reductions will also apply to categories such as home furnishings, indoor lighting, and home products.
Amit Nanda, Director of Selling Partner Services at Amazon India, emphasized that the fee reduction responds to seller feedback, particularly from small businesses. “We are committed to supporting businesses of all sizes. This fee reduction is a significant step towards creating a more seller-friendly ecosystem,” Nanda stated.
The fee changes, which include reductions in referral fees across 59 sub-categories and revised weight handling fees for fulfillment services, are designed to help sellers optimize their operations in time for Diwali and beyond. Nanda expressed confidence that these adjustments will facilitate accelerated growth for sellers during the festive season and provide long-term benefits.
