JAMNAGAR, APRIL 4, 2025
In a remarkable display of devotion and resilience, Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, has embarked on a 170-kilometre spiritual journey on foot from Jamnagar to Dwarka. The padyatra, which began on March 29, is set to conclude in the holy city of Dwarka on April 8 — just a day before Anant’s 30th birthday.
Walking an average of 20 kilometres each day over nearly seven hours, the 29-year-old scion is blending personal faith with physical endurance in a journey that echoes India’s timeless tradition of pilgrimage. Along the route, Anant has been seen reciting sacred chants including the Hanuman Chalisa, Sundarkand, and Devi Stotra, immersing himself fully in the spiritual essence of the land.
This undertaking is particularly significant in light of Anant’s well-documented health struggles. Having battled Cushing’s Syndrome, obesity, asthma, and a serious lung condition, his determination to complete this physically demanding trek has resonated widely with admirers across the country. Many have joined him briefly along the way, while others have offered blessings in the form of images of Lord Dwarkadhish.
Anant’s spiritual commitment extends far beyond this padyatra. He has supported key religious and cultural institutions across India, including the revered shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Kamakhya, and the Kumbh Mela. His compassion also manifests in his role as the driving force behind Vantara, a world-class animal refuge inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Balancing his spiritual pursuits with business leadership, Anant plays a pivotal role in Reliance’s operations, overseeing the world’s largest refinery in Jamnagar and leading the company’s push into new and renewable energy. His journey reflects a rare blend of reverence for tradition and vision for the future.
